Lorraine may have started her grooming career later than some, but far from being a disadvantage, it’s only made her better. With a distinguished 26-year career at British Airways, Lorraine brings excellent communication skills to her work, taking the time to get to know each client and their dog. She trained as a groomer in 2019, achieving a Level 3 qualification, and also holds a current Canine First Aid certificate.

Fully insured, Lorraine’s instincts are spot-on, particularly with nervous, reactive, elderly dogs. She is especially attentive to any health concerns or anxieties, ensuring every pet receives the care and grooming that suits their unique needs. Her salon, attached to her home, has plenty of parking, and she personally handles every grooming session, ensuring consistently high standards for each pet. Unlike some salons that can feel like conveyor belts, Lorraine’s approach is thorough, caring, and tailored to each animal.

Talking to Lorraine, it’s clear she has a deep love for animals. She has shown dogs at Crufts, owns a rescue dog named Selkie (after whom her business is named), and even rescues chickens! She’s also worked with horses.

I spent two and a half hours with Lorraine as she groomed a gorgeous Shih Tzu, and the result was simply adorable! The care and attention she gave to this adorable dog were evident throughout, and the bond between them was clear to see in the photos.

Lorraine is incredibly thorough with the entire process, and the end result was beautiful. When she told me that dog owners travel from Guildford and beyond for her services, I wasn’t surprised—she truly is the perfect groomer!

Rachel is a passionate and dedicated professional who has achieved considerable success in her career working with animals. Before becoming a dog groomer, she spent two years as a Veterinary Assistant. In 2019, Rachel earned her Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dog Grooming, which included extensive training in animal behaviour, handling, and behaviour management.

She began her grooming career working in a salon, then transitioned to mobile grooming for two years. Her business flourished so much that she opened her own beautiful grooming salon in December 2024. She is fully insured and holds a current Canine First Aid certificate.

The salon is bright and spacious, offering plenty of room for Rachel’s plans to hire another groomer in the future. During my visit, a new customer arrived, and Rachel demonstrated excellent communication skills. She asked insightful questions to better understand the client's needs and learn more about her two adorable dogs.
